Hello friend,
What do you visualize if someone told you God moved in this or that place?
If you are like me, I would be quick to visualize any one of the stereotypes in my mind – a spectacular miracle, a burning-bush type encounter, thunderclaps and lightning of sort.
I might be right, but that would be only one side of the story.
I really do find it difficult to appreciate God’s move in and around me when I do not see visible sparks and spectacular manifestations. But I am learning that God’s non-dramatic “moves” are as authentic (and if not much deeper-reaching) as His dramatic ways, and I must be on the look out.
7eventh Time Down elucidates this much neglected other side of the story:
Anytime a heart turns from darkness to light
Anytime temptation comes and someone stands to fight
Anytime somebody lives to serve and not be served
I know God is on the move
Anytime in weakness someone falls upon their knees
Or dares to stand and speak the truth that sets men free
Anytime the choice is made to stand upon the Word
I know – God is on the move
Anytime the Gospel stirs a love for searching souls
And someone says “Here I am send me, I will go”
I know – God is on the move
So do not be discouraged. As you pray and serve wherever you are, may your eyes see God working day-to-day in and around you.In many mighty (and still-small-voice) ways, God is on the move today!
Hallelujah,
Toluwanimi
